SCALE IN GOOD OR BAD TIMES Many know how to win during good economic times but only a few know how to win during a recession or an economic collapse. The Forbes 400 is made up of leaders who knew how to anticipate, adapt and adjust swiftly to capitalize during bad times.
MESSAGE FROM PATRICK BET-DAVID Dear Entrepreneur, Over the years, many of you have asked me why I create content and openly share my strategies with you. The answer is quite simple yet emotional. Simple because I believe the strategies I share can get anyone results living in any country. Emotional because I know how close I was to giving up and just being average and ordinary. How close I was to just throwing in the towel. How close I was to believing my critics that I wasn’t good enough to compete in the market place. I never thought I would wake up one day running a financial firm with nearly 10,000 agents with Oscar De La Hoya as one of my investors. I never thought I’d create a brand called “Valuetainment” that inspires millions of Entrepreneurs around the world. I never thought I would get to a point of having billionaires, politicians, influencers and celebrities on speed dial. But something changed. I got CLEAR on what I wanted and who I wanted to be. I got CLEAR on a problem solving strategy that helped me in the war room, board room and the bedroom. I got CLEAR on effective strategies and hacks that helped me grow during good times and bad times. I got CLEAR on the type of a leader I want to be and the type of a team I want to build. This is why “The Vault” is an event you must attend in 2019. I truly believe Valuetainment will be known as the brand that inspired the next generation of great leaders, minds, innovators and Entrepreneurs around the world. I will also be unveiling the vision of Valuetainment at the conference. We are in search for leaders around the world and I can’t wait to meet many of you face to face in Dallas. Chick-fil-A tops U.S. fast food restaurants in customer satisfaction, study finds — Q13 FOX News

When it comes to U.S. fast food restaurants, Chick-fil-A is tops for a second straight year, according to a survey that measures customer satisfaction.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index uses a 0-100 scale, and restaurant grades are composed of several factors that include accuracy and quality of the order, cleanliness, online user experience, behavior of staff and menu variety.

The study found that Chick-fil-A is far outpacing chicken competitor KFC, which wound up in 12th place.

Following Chick-fil-A in the top five are Panera, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut and Subway.

The study found that people are generally happier with dining out in 2018 than they were in 2017, but not every type of fast food restaurant has experienced a bump. Burger restaurants are flat in terms of customer satisfaction, with Wendy’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box and McDonald’s making up four of the bottom five in the ACSI’s ranking.

“As Millennials gain spending power, their preferences shift the industry landscape — from more demand for fresh, organic ingredients to new ways to order and deliver food,” researchers found. “In response, restaurants are revamping menus and investing in new technology (for example, smartphone apps and automated kiosks), as well as adding curbside and third-party delivery services.”

With revenue from delivery up 20 percent over five years, it’s not surprising that pizza restaurants are cashing in – and the battle is tightening. Pizza Hut made a 5 percent gain in 2018, pulling into a tie with satisfaction leader Papa John’s.

The top five restaurants in the full service category are Texas Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden and Outback Steakhouse.

What are your rights if a safety warning or recall is issued on a product? — The Scottish Sun

CHOCOLATES with potentially-deadly salmonella or tumble dryers that catch fire: These are just a few of the products that have led to safety alerts in the past year. Last year, a range of food safety organisations investigated more than 2,200 foods and environmental contamination incidents across the UK. Whirlpool issued a safety warning for faulty dryers under the Indesit, Hotpoint, Creda and Proline brand names, originally in 2015 but it updated the notice last year to inform customers they should not use machines affected by the default. This doesn’t even include products such as electricals, household appliances or motors (remember those exploding air bags?). Recalls are essentially an important means of protecting consumers from dangerous goods. So what should you do if a product you use has been recalled? And where can you check for the latest recalls. Here is what you need to know: What is a product recall ? And is similar to a safety notice? When consumers read about product recalls they will usually be safety alerts issued by a manufacturer or a retailer following the discovery of a concern with a product. Just yesterday Poundworld recalled items from a children’s Halloween costume amid fears that they put the wearer’s safety at risk. Cath Kidston kids’ drinking bottles were urgently recalled in September amid choking fears It does not necessarily mean that the item in your possession is one of the faulty products, but it is a warning that it might not be safe to use. Depending on the type of safety notice issued, manufacturers have different responsibilities to customers. A recall – when the manufacturer must call back a dangerous product – is the most severe level of safety notice. A company will sometimes issue a recall to limit the number of complaints made against them. But often firms get away with issuing a safety notice to inform customers that the item could be dangerous. Alex Neill, from consumer group Which? told the Sun Online:”The current product safety system means consumers are responsible for registering products and checking manufacturers’ websites for recalls, when more responsibility should lie with manufacturers.” Where can I check if the product I am using has been recalled? Sadly, there’s no central database that lists all the recalls across the UK. This makes it more difficult for consumers to actually know if the products they are using are safe. But some websites do list the most recent product recalls: For food you can check a list of food alerts on the Food standards Agency’s website. A variety of the most recent recalls and safety notices are listed on the Chartered Trading Institute website. For car & vehicle recalls you can visit the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). For electrical products, you can check the Electrical Safety First’s list. Check alerts and recalls for drugs and medical devices on the Government’s website. You can search for EU-wide product safety warnings on the EU Commission’s rapid alert system website. What can I do to stay safe ? If you are concerned about the safety of a product you own, always check the manufacturer’s website to see if a safety notice was issued recently. Remember to register your electrical appliance on RegisterMyAppliance. The onus is usually on you – the customer – to register the appliance with the manufacturer as if you don’t there is no way of contacting you to tell you about a fault. This will make it easier for manufacturers to contact you in case of a recall. FIRE WARNING The 10 domestic appliances most likely to catch fire revealed as report finds they cause FIVE fires a day If you become aware that an item you own has been recalled or has any safety noticed issued against it, make sure you follow the instructions given to you by the manufacturer. You can also check the manufacturer’s or retailer’s website for more information. The manufacturer should usually provide you with more information and a contact number on its safety notice. [bc_video video_id=”5571109979001″ account_id=”5067014667001″ player_id=”default” embed=”in-page” caption=”Watch this Hotpoint tumble dryer as it catches fire in the middle of”] In some cases, the manufacturer might arrange for the faulty product to be collected. In others cases, you will have to bring back the product yourself. You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item. What if I get hurt? Under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, anyone who has been harmed by an unsafe product – even if you didn’t buy it yourself – can sue the manufacturer. The amount of money that can be claimed will depend on the harm suffered and there is no upper limit to the compensation you’ll get. You can sue if you sustain a personal injury bur also if there was damage to your private property caused by faulty goods. The value of the damage must be more than £275. If you take on the case and don’t win then you should be aware that you could be liable for any legal costs – and those of the company too. [boxout headline=”HOW TO CHECK IF AN APPLIANCE IS FAULTY” intro=”A tool by Electrical Safety First allows you to check if your appliance has been recalled since 2007.”] The Chartered Institute of Trading Standards also has a list of recent product recalls on it site. You can also register your details with a manufacturer as soon as you buy an item. You can do this directly or register with the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances service and they will tell you when a product is recalled or a safety alert is issued.
